Stanford is Rain Ready!
We're turning RAIN into RESOURCES! ββ‘οΈπ¦
Stanford University is now capturing stormwater and irrigation runoff as an alternate water source to supplement the non-potable irrigation system.
How it works:
- Capture stormwater & irrigation runoff π
- Filter through diversion structures π
- Pump to Felt Lake π§
- Reuse for campus irrigationπ±
Why this matters:
- Reduces waste β - Every drop goes to work!
- Protects local waterways β - Less polluted runoff
- Smart infrastructure β - Regional facilities = lower costs
- Drought resilience β - More local water sources
π Featured Project: Sand Hill Fields Runoff Intercept Facility is already making a difference!
We're proud partners in Rain Ready California π - a statewide initiative protecting our waters, reducing flooding, and building a water-secure future.
π‘ What falls from the sky today, waters our campus tomorrow!
