Surface Water

Main content start

Local surface water is sourced from creeks and runoff to the reservoirs or lakes on Stanford land, and is used for irrigation.

Surface water is diverted from local creeks and stored in Felt Lake for use during dry periods.

Surface water is the main source for the campus lake (non-potable irrigation) water system, which is used to irrigate the majority of the campus; groundwater is used to supplement surface water supplies during dry years.
